EASY- Non technical ground using one axeÂ
IDEAS- CMD Arete,Ben Nevis. Zig Zags,Gearr Aonach.
No 4 Gully, Ben Nevis
PREREQUISITES- Summer hillwalking . Summer Scrambling useful.
MODERATE- More exposed ground, longer routes. 2 Technical Axes required.
IDEAS-Dorsal Arete, Stob Coire Nan Lochan(II). Ledge Route, Ben Nevis (II). Curved Ridge, Buachaille Etive Mor((II/III)
PREREQUISITES- Experienced winter walker. Some rock climbing useful.
CHALLENGING- More commiting routes,with no easy escapes. 2 Technical Axes
IDEAS- Aonach Eagach Ridge (II/III). Tower Ridge, Ben Nevis (IV,3). North Buttress, Buachaille Etive Mor (IV,4)
PREREQUISITES- Experience of easier winter routes. Rock climbing background. Winter Skills Course recommended.
